Case studies
Some examples of websites and web-based applications that we have developed are shown below. If the site is publicly available then the image acts as a link to view the live site. Some sites/applications are only available on private intranets.
The Unpackaged Travel Company
The Unpackaged Travel Company was launched at the beginning of 2004. The company offers a tailor-made travel planning service and has established an ever growing and loyal customer base in the South West of England and beyond. Many clients are now booking their 2nd, 3rd or 4th trips.
Logical Elements completed a complete redesign of the company's website in October 2006, and incorporated an easy to use content managment system that will enable the company to keep the site updated with latest travel ideas and news.
Plans for the future include the intergation of dynamic Google maps and travel data, and a travel blog that can be updated by clients whilst on their trip.

Foxhills Club & Resort
Foxhills is a 400 acre resort in Surrey offering hotel, conferencing, golf, tennis and fitness facilities to 4000 members, corporate clients and guests. In 1999 their first web site was launched, but soon proved to be inflexible in terms of updating content and providing services to the resort's members.
Logical Elements was one of a number of web design businesses asked to submit proposals for the redevelopment of the website, and was subsequently appointed. Marc Hayton, Marketing Director of Foxhills said: "We were impressed with the ideas and philosophy that Logical Elements' proposal contained. It captured the spirit of what Foxhills offers to members and visitors".
Subsequent development has included a new members section, providing details of coming events, results of golf and tennis matches and tournaments, special offers for members, on-line booking facilities for activities, golf course status reports and much more. We are currently carrying out a further redevelopment of the site to bring it in line with accessibily standards
In addition, a bespoke content management system has been implemented. This allows any authorised user - Foxhills managers, golf committee members etc. - to log-in from anywhere worldwide and update the sections of the site for which they are responsible, thereby giving control of the site's content back to the people who run and use the facilities.

Haptic Ltd.
Haptic Ltd is the UK importer and distributor for the 'Taggies' range of blankets & comforters for babies and pre-school children; Scholastic soft books; and the 'Minimink' faux fur range from Australia. We worked with Haptic's graphic designers to capture the look and feel of their media campaigns; converting for-print design layouts into CSS-based layouts for the web.
The site has an easy-to-use content management system and an integrated store-locator The store-locator provides an administration interface that enables Haptic's personnel to manage store details.
At present the site has links to the US Taggies eCommerce site, but we are in the process developing Haptic's own eCommerce store which will showcase the range of products that Haptic now import into UK. In addition, we will be implementing an online ordering facility to allow retailers to restock online.

PC Comms
PC Comms was launched 4 years ago and now provides IT products, peripherals, broadband and support to over 200 Somerset based businesses
Our brief was to develop a new website using graphics that were supplied by Pc Comms marketing agency, and which replicated the look and feel oftheor promotional materials.
The site is fully content managed and also incorporates a secure section where customers can login to submit and view the progress of support tickets. Our 'speedtrack' SMS-based tracking system alerts PC COmms' support staff with a text message whenever an emergency support ticket is raised, therby ensuring that they can respond with 15 minutes.

RaceAhead Race Timing
Raceahead uses ChampionChip race timing equipment to provide race timing and logistics for marathon and triathlon events in the UK
The equipment collects data transmitted from magnetically activated chips which athletes wear around their ankles or attached to clothing. ChampionChip equipment is used at a number of major events worldwide including the London and Chicago marathons, as well as many other mass participation events such as triathlons.
We developed an innovative MySQL & PHP based application that collects the data from the receiving units, parses it to extract chip identities and times, calculates elapsed times for individual stages in a race, and then displays current rankings and positions in 'real-time' via a web based interface. The application has been used at a number of major marathon, half-marathon and triathlon events in the UK over the last 3 years.
